A B O U T U S
We come from the red soils and green forests of Latehar, Jharkhand where farming is still a way of life. Here, fields are small, the work is hard, and the bond between people and the land runs deep. For generations, our tribal farmers have grown crops in harmony with nature — saving seeds, caring for the soil, and sharing harvests with their neighbours.
That is where LateHaat began — as an idea born in these very fields. We wanted to keep alive the traditional ways of farming and bring the taste of our land to more people, without losing what makes it special.
Our first product is Jeeraphool Rice, the pride of Latehar. It’s a tiny grain with a gentle fragrance, It doesn’t grow everywhere — only in our kind of soil, with the right rain and the patient hands of farmers who know it well. Today, LateHaat brings this rice straight from those farms to your kitchen — without middlemen, without chemicals, and without losing its original flavour.
Alongside Jeeraphool, we grow and promote other natural and traditional varieties of rice and grains that our farmers have cultivated for generations. Everything we produce comes from natural farming — no chemical fertilizers, no pesticides, no shortcuts. We use cow dung, compost, and local seeds. The fields are watered by rain, not pumps. Birds, insects, and trees are all part of the same living system.
Our work is as much about people as it is about food. When you buy from LateHaat, you’re supporting the small farmers of Latehar — families who depend on their land and their knowledge to make a living with dignity. We make sure they get a fair price for their harvests, and we help them reach markets that were once far beyond their reach.
We are a community effort — a group of farmers, friends, and supporters who believe that the best food comes from trust, not factories. Our dream is simple: to keep our soil healthy, our traditions alive, and our farmers hopeful for the next season.

Sourced directly from the lush, mineral-rich soils of Latehar District, our Jeeraphool rice is lovingly cultivated by local tribal farmers who have nurtured this aromatic grain for generations.
Jeeraphool Rice is known for its delicate aroma, short-grain texture, and unmatched taste. Once reserved for royal households, this indigenous variety now carries the essence of the hardworking farmers of Latehar to your table.
